About General Santos City

The General Santos City, formerly known as Dadiangas, is a highly urbanized city in the 7th Region (SOCCSKSARGEN) of the country. It is also called the "Tuna Capital of the Philippines" because of their famous tuna fish in the city.
GenSan is located in the south-central part of Mindanao in the province of South Cotabato. It is also recognized as the most populous city in the region.

They City claimed GenSan as "Home of the Champions." where some of the most iconic and famous Filipinos came from. Some of them are our Filipino boxer, Emmanuel "Manny" Dapidran Pacquiao or the People's Champ and Miss Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup who was crowned as the third runner-up.

General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao, re-elected mayor and currently on her second term, supervised the growth of the city and its potential in various aspects for the next coming years.

As the Batang Pinoy reached its planning stage and ocular visitations, GenSan welcomed the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and showed great potential in partnership for the hosting of the sport agency’s multi-sport event.
